Week two predictions
OOF. That’s my reaction to my week one picks. I did not do well. I was 11-5 straight up but a humiliating 6-10 against the spread.
On to week two.
I’m writing this on Saturday but I did make my picks for the Thursday game before the game.
As always, these picks are for entertainment purposes only.
Washington @ Green Bay (-3.5): I was not a believer in Green Bay before the game. I am now. I chose Washington straight up and plus the points. Tough start to week two.
Cleveland @ Baltimore (-11.5): Baltimore is so good. And I have zero faith in the Browns. But, they still have Joe Flacco and 11.5 is a huge spread. Baltimore straight up but Cleveland is able to beat the spread
Jacksonville @ Cincinatti (+3.5): This might be a shoot out. I have no faith in the Cinci defense and I think the Jags offense will be better than week one. I have Cinci winning straight up and Jax getting the spread
New York Giants @ Dallas (-6.5): I still think that the Giants will have a top fifteen defense in the league and possibly top ten. But that offense, yikes. How long until they put Jaxson Dart in? Won’t be long if they start 0-2. I take Dallas minus the points and straight up.
Chicago @ Detroit (-5.5): Here’s my homer pick. Detroit will win straight up but give me Da Bears plus the points.
New England @ Miami (-1.5): Very surprised that Miami is favored in this game. They looked horrible last week and I don’t think the Patriots looked as good as they are. New England straight up and with the points.
San Francisco @ New Orleans (+4.5): I played with the idea of taking the Saints plus the points. However, they are a train wreck. And I still believe in Mac Jones. He had a good rookie year and then had to deal with whatever crap Belichick was giving him for OC’s. So the 9er’s win by 6.
Buffalo @ New York Jets (+6.5): This is probably a dumb take but, I need to see Justin Fields play consistently good before I start looking at him differently. I have Buffalo winning by a TD.
Seattle @ Pittsburgh (-2.5): Pittsburgh will win this pretty easily.
LA Rams @ Tennessee (+5.5): Rams win this one pretty easily as well.
Carolina @ Arizona (-6.5): To quote Dennis Green, “they are who we thought they were”. I did not believe in the pre-season Bryce Young hype. And look, it’s only week two. This is going to be a long year for the Panthers. Arizona will win by double digits.
Denver @ Indianapolis (+2.5): Indy surprised a lot of people last week. Denver is still the better team though. Denver straight up and minus the points.
Philadelphia @ Kansas City (+1.5): KC did not look that good last week against the Chargers and now play the defending SuperBowl Champs. Philly is just too good. The champs by a field goal.
Atlanta @ Minnesota (-4.5): For two and a half quarters, Minnesota did not look good against Chicago in week one. And then they figured it out. It will be some time before Atlanta figures it out. That Minnesota defense is really good and they win by seven.
Tampa Bay @ Houston (-2.5): What happened to the CJ Stroud from ‘23? Tampa by two scores.
LA Chargers @ Las Vegas (+3.5): I am a big believer in the Chargers and Justin Herbert played really well in the win over the Chiefs. Conversely, the Raiders surprised me last week. I think the Chargers are the better team and win by 6.
